Friday Update & Our Weekend Trim Painting Goals

Written by DIY, Life

Now that spring is officially here, it’s like we are finally waking up again! This week was filled with a hard and stressful, but exciting personal decision for me. I accepted a new job! It will be very different and full of new learning opportunities for me as I join a cool group of creative people. I can’t wait to see what lies ahead.

Outside of that, house projects are floating in our brains again as we have renewed energy with the later sunlight. I already have a sample pot of paint out making touch ups here and there, prepping for my (hopefully productive) weekend. Here’s a little snapshot on this Friday of what’s going on:

Bye, bye orangey wood trim! This weekend, our plan is to clear out our master bedroom! We’re gonna clean our rug, take down the curtains and blinds, caulk and repair any holes or cracks in the trim and at least start painting all the wood trim in the room. Anyone want to take bets on how far we will get?

We are totally crushing on the brass drawer pulls of Jordan’s new dresser. Our poor little IKEA nightstands just didn’t seem to stand up next to it. So I got these simple little brass pulls at Target to give them a quick and inexpensive update.

Kitchen plans are starting to come together! We met with our designer and reviewed a couple floor plan ideas. It was super collaborative, and I’ve been on Pinterest like crazy ever since now that we have more of a direction we are going in. We also took a stroll through Lowes to look at new ranges, but this refrigerator caught our attention.

I just ordered the spiralizer attachment for my Kitchen Aid mixer. Soon, we’ll be having all the zucchini noodles we can dream of!

Here’s to a productive weekend everyone! What are you guys up to? Hope to accomplish anything, or just chillin?
